To All The Men I Love

"And Papa I don't think I said I love you near enough..." - Leader of the Band

I grew up without a father. He died when I was about  to turn four. The only vivid memory I got with him is the story that my Mama always tell me growing up, a story on what happened on the day of his interment. I want to have an electric fan inside my father's tomb as he is 'mainitin' and would get all sweaty when humid, just like me. And the lone picture that I always post, the one where Ate and I ride in his back. Growing up, I got the father figure I need from my Uncles, my father's brothers, who stood in his behalf, in his absence. This song is very special to me (and my cousins) as we dedicate this song to our fathers. It's not father's day today, but I want to say thank you to all of my father's brothers.

Art Appreciation: Papemelroti

Yes, THE famous Papemelroti! Who doesn't know them?

I have been a fan of Papemelroti since high school (1990s). Every chance I got that I can go to the mall and would have enough money saved, I HAVE TO BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. As seen on the picture, those are some of the items I get to keep until now, the oldest would be the gift wrapper that I got and used as a notebook cover.

Art Appreciation: Bonsai

By: Mangyan Bonsai
Little trees, dwarfed trees - these are some of the names people have called bonsai. Bonsai, by definition, means an ornamental tree or shrub grown in a pot and artificially prevented from reaching its normal size. It was derived from the Japanese terms:

Bon - which means tray

and

sai - which means planting
(Source: Google)

Bonsai symbolizes harmony, peace, order of thoughts and balance. This Japanese art entails a lot of patience as you will not get the result you want instantly. A bonsai can reach its potential or ideal look in as early as two years, some will take more. (Source: Mangyan Bonsai)

Bonsai comes in different sizes. They are classified according to height. Shown below is an image of bonsai(s) in different sizes, in reference to human's height.
